The Wicked Egg
About Us
At The Wicked Egg, we believe breakfast should be bold, craveable, and anything but ordinary.
Since opening in 2023, we’ve quickly grown from a new local breakfast spot into a community favorite in Libertyville. Known for our signature sandwiches and bowls, fresh juices, locally roasted coffee, and flavor-packed house-made favorites like Wicked Jam and Wicked Hot Sauce, we’re proud to serve food that keeps people coming back.
What truly sets us apart is the energy. From busy weekday mornings to packed weekend brunches, our goal has always been simple: serve fresh, high-quality breakfast with genuine hospitality.
Whether you’re a first-timer or one of the many regulars who’ve supported us since day one, we’re grateful to be part of the community and honored to be part of your morning routine.
Welcome to The Wicked Egg. Fresh mornings, served daily.

THE STORY
The Wicked Egg was founded by brothers George and Teddy with one goal in mind: create the kind of breakfast spot they felt their hometown area was missing.
Libertyville had plenty of fast food and no shortage of upscale brunch spots, but nothing in between. So they built something different: a fast-casual breakfast experience that’s high-quality, full of flavor, and designed for real life.
Whether you’re a commuter powering through the morning grind or someone recovering from a wicked night out, The Wicked Egg was created to be your go-to. No reservations. No fluff. Just bold food made fresh, served fast, and crafted to actually satisfy.
What started as a small local concept has quickly grown into a community favorite, with packed weekends, loyal regulars, and support that continues to blow them away every day.
From day one, George and Teddy wanted The Wicked Egg to feel like more than just a restaurant. They wanted it to feel like that place people crave, recommend, and keep coming back to.
And judging by the lines out the door, it’s safe to say: mission accomplished!
From Slagel Family Farms to Your Plate at The Wicked Egg
Locally Sourced. Farm-Raised. Flavor You Can Feel Good About.
At The Wicked Egg, we’re committed to real ingredients, real relationships, and real quality — which is why we partner with Slagel Family Farms, a family-owned farm known for ethical, small-scale agriculture right here in Illinois.
Our eggs, beef, and pork come straight from Slagel’s pasture-raised animals — no antibiotics, no hormones, no shortcuts. Just honest farming and uncompromising care.
Why It Matters:
Golden Yolk Eggs
Laid by cage-free Golden Buff hens raised without antibiotics or animal by-products. These eggs are packed fresh at the farm and delivered directly to our kitchen — often within just a few days.Dry-Aged Beef
Slagel’s beef is dry-aged for 25 days, resulting in tender texture and deep flavor. You’ll taste the difference in every burger.Heritage Pork
Their heritage-breed hogs are raised naturally and humanely — delivering rich, flavorful pork you can feel good about.
A Farm Partnership That Makes a Difference
When you eat at The Wicked Egg, you’re supporting sustainable local agriculture and enjoying ingredients that were raised with respect — for the animal, for the land, and for your plate.
We’re proud to work with the Slagel family and even prouder to serve their products to our community.
